Nail art continues to be a mega trend, something that used to be a bit twee and associated with acrylic nails and weddings is now very much a mainstream, fashion accessory pushed to popularity with the success of one time small brand, WAH nails and many more like it across the world. This week I discovered a WAH nails of my local town, Brighton in the form of SHE NAIL.
I visited Brighton born and bred nail artist, Poppie Sharman of SHE NAIL during a pop up guest spot at central Brighton beauty salon, Powder Beauty. Powder is hosted in a dinky Tudor style building in central Brighton with a quirky, vintage inspired styling and a broad menu of beauty treatments for all budgets. They are mega at nails in particular, definitely check them out in your in need of a mani by the seaside.
For a start, you can never go wrong with a salon that serves cups of tea in cute retro cups and saucers with a biscuit on the side, you’ve already won me over with that simple touch.
Powder Beauty offer nail art, gel nails and classic manicures all year around, but on this occasion they were hosting talented artist, Poppie who managed to create a totally beautiful Adventure Time themed manicure using products from Models Own and CND.
Here’s what Poppie came up with, is it’s totally MATH!? My metallic BMO pop makes an appearance to really show out the brilliance of this manicure. It may have taken over an hour, but the results are awesome, I’d definitely recommend SHE NAIL and Powder Beauty for any Sussex based beauty needs. Poppie and all the staff are Powder are utterly lovely too, which really makes the experience especially nice.
If you’re not Sussex based, give them both a follow on Instagram for daily inspiration direct from the salon: @she_nail_ and @powderbeautyboutiqe. Now just to see if I can make this nail art last until MCM Comic Con at the end of this month!
